  1. Boomerang Jets Sprint Stars N Stripes Scheme
    $899.00
Boomerang Jets Sprint Stars N Stripes Scheme

Boomerang Sprint - Stars N Stripes Scheme

The Boomerang Sprint is by far the workhorse of the Boomerang Squadron. Suitable for the 14-22lb thrust range of turbines The Sprint is an all wood ARF jet trainer that has trained hundreds, maybe even thousands of turbine enthusiasts. But don’t be fooled by the “Trainer” label. The Sprint is a very capable aerobatic jet that will give countless thrills when you push it through an aerobatic routine. From rolling circles and stall turns, the Sprint can do it all. And when you’re ready to land it will slow down to a crawl for those short field landings. Being an all wood airframe, covered in genuine OraCover film, should you have that unfortunate bump in the road it is easily repaired using basic building skills and materials. You’ll be up and flying again in no time. Whether this is your first jet or your tenth jet, no hangar is complete without a Boomerang Sprint in it.

After some months (or even years!) of listening to feedback from our customers and a ton of flight testing, we've come up with a new design, based on the tried and tested Intro, but with some changes and improvements.
The result is now the new BOOMERANG SPRINT ARF kit. We firmly believe this is The best flying ARF Trainer you can buy!
As always like it's forebear the Baby Boomerang ( Intro), it will fly very well with the Jetcat P60 but now the P80 size turbines will drop straight into it without modification. In some ways it can be regarded as a cross between the Intro and the Elan.
A choice of four New and exciting colour schemes add a sparkle to the model.

The Sprint is a wood ARF kit with just a few fibreglass parts added.. The shapes have been refined a little to give a better looking jet. For example the booms are now rounded off top and bottom, the rear of the fuselage tapers to give better appearance, the air intakes are more in keeping with a turbine powered plane etc, etc. New tailplane (Stab) shape with large elevator surface requiring small movement to be super effective. The rail mounted nose leg retracts rearward, allowing for easy fitting of the Pro-Link trailing link struts which have become so popular. The air intakes are now much larger to feed the breathing suction needs of the 80 size turbines.

The fuselage now accepts our 3.7 litre (125oz) fuel tank for longer flight times. There is more than enough room for smoke system etc. Elan type wing fixing, simple and direct locking on to alloy rods.
Not only is the top speed when pushed, higher than that of the Intro, but the flying characteristics are, if anything, even better. Extra side areas on the fuselage and booms makes knife edge flight better than ever. Slow flight is remarkable, as you would expect of our designs. The slightly larger wing and flap area aids the usual ultra slow landing speed, typical of Boomerang trainers.

The weight stays within a few ounces of the original Intro, thus keeping the amazing & easy aerobatic capability.

  3. Boomerang Jets XL Tribute Blue and Yellow
    $1,499.00
Boomerang Jets XL Tribute Blue and Yellow

    Boomerang XL "Tribute" Color Scheme

The Boomerang XL is the largest of the Boomerang line up and it draws its size and appearance from the very first Boomerang that Alan Cardash ever designed. Alan wanted a turbine airframe that could do more than just tear holes in the sky at blazing speeds. He wanted a true aerobatic performer. Originally called the “Big Boomer”, Alan had some very specific performance requirements for this airframe. First it had to have light wing loading so it could be a good aerobat. It had to have easy access to the fuselage for maintenance and assembly. It also needed to have a good presence in the air for those of us that don’t have the best eyesight anymore. With a 94” wingspan it is easy to see in the air, yet it breaks down remarkably small when it’s time to pack it up for the trip home. Just like all the Boomerangs do. The flight performance of the Boomerang XL is stunning. From very slow flight to lazy aerobatics and the occasional high speed pass, the XL is simply a joy to fly. Short fields are no problem with an XL (or any of the Boomerangs). Add a bit of crow to increase the wing loading and it will land on strips other jets wouldn’t dare to attempt. The XL is built with a combination of materials. The Fuselage and booms are composite while the center wing, outer wings and the tail plane are of wood construction. All wood components are fully sheeted and covered with genuine OraCover film. Designed to handle from 18-30lb thrust turbines the XL is a winner all around. Just ask the many pilots who fly them.

So far the XL2 flight testing has had us absolutely stunned. The speed range is just at the point of being hard to believe. Fast as h*** and yet able to fly so slow you won't believe it will stay up there. With a totally new design approach, for 16 to 30 lbs thrust turbines, the XL2 retains the slow flight and short take off and landing ability of the old Boomerang, but you'll be surprised at the higher top speed of the new clean, low drag design.

At 94" span, the measured top speed is 175 MPH with a 30 lb thrust turbine. Using optional crow braking some of the tricks an experienced flyer can do with the XL2 have never been possible with a jet before now. Knife edge flight, snaps and spins, (upright or inverted, of course) and hovering in a breeze etc. etc. At the same time it is so easy to fly that it is an ideal jet trainer! Customers have been flying the XL2 with a range of turbines from the 17 lbs thrust JetCat P70 giving smooth and easy aerobatics, right up to the P160 with 35 lbs and the Kingtech 140 to 170 turbines from 30 to 38 lbs for stunning vertical performance.

The XL2 is a quick plane to assemble at the flying field. It also breaks down easily and fast to go in your car. Construction is unusual in that the fuselage and booms are fibreglass, but to keep the weight down to achieve the staggering aerobatic performance the wings and tailplane (stab.) surfaces are built up with a Profilm (Orocover) finish all round. Two carbon fibre wing spars and use of carbon fibre in the built up structures gives massive strength, but the bare airframe weight is only 7.7Kgs. (17 lbs.) giving an all up dry weight of around 26 to 28lbs. depending on the Turbine/Radio & servos/Retracts installation used. With the big wing area, the wing loading is between 2.0 & 2.4lbs per square foot, which helps to explain the performance. As with all Boomerang designs, there is complete access to the entire fuselage interior from the nose to the turbine via the virtually full length top hatch, so it is easy to carry out any maintenance required.

    Specifications:

    • Wingspan: 94"
    • Length: 92"assembled.
    • Breaks down easily to fit in a car
    • Weight: 25lb ~ 30lb
    • Turbine: 18lb ~ 30lb Thrust.
