Zurich Pilot Series
Zurich Extreme Glare Pilot Series Sunglasses
Which Zurich Style To Choose?
One question to consider: Do you wear prescription glasses? We have two styles of Zurich's to choose from. The "Original Extreme Glare " Zurich style will fit over most prescription glasses, (the RX glasses should fit, if they are under 6” across the lens from hinge to hinge). The Z-2 Pilot EXtreme Glare style is for fashion use only...these are not designed to fit over prescription glasses. However, both styles can be comfortably worn if you wear “contact lenses”.
All Zurich Sunglasses have full 100% blockage protection against ultraviolet rays, no matter what color, shade, or style.
Zurich lenses are made in gray base lenses for bright sunny days, and in rose base lenses for overcast, some sun, and hazy weather.
The different colors in the mirror coating is on the exterior of the lens does not alter or distort the natural colors you see...it is only a cosmetic choice along with the shade you want.
All of our Zurich sunglasses cut a tremendous amount of "glare". The gray lenses will be a darker shade than the rose lenses.
Most pilots (whether airplane or helicopter) use the medium shades in either the gray lenses or rose lenses. Your choices depend on where you live, how bright your area is, or if you want to see the colors more vividly and enhanced against the gray skies...which is how the rose lenses will help. If you fly or drive into direct sun, then you definitely will need the medium or dark lenses in either gray or rose. If your eyes are very sensitive to bright light, then you will need a dark shade...like the gray lenses in dark shading. Or if you like the colors viewed more vividly and enhanced, then you may choose the dark shade in the rose lenses.
