    The Smart-Fly TurboReg is ideal for larger jets running many high current digital servos.  All power input and output connectors are Deans Ultra Plugs to handle the high currents the TurboReg is capable of.  The unit is will handle 17.5A continuous current but can handle peak currents in excess of 35A.  The unit has dual battery inputs for redundancy and has a built-in BatShare to balance battery draw and prevent a bad battery pack from affect a good pack.  It is meant to be used with 2-cell Li-ion, LiMg or Li-Poly packs.  It features adjustable voltage output from approximately 5.1V to 6.4V.  The TurboReg is a perfect match with our PowerExpanders when a less expensive solution than our PowerSystems is desired. It supports the use of an optional failsafe switch.

    The Smart-Fly dual-battery regulators provide the user with battery redundancy and a remote on/off switch. There are two versions available for different size planes, which are described below.

    The Smart-Fly SportReg provides the user with battery redundancy, adjustable regulator and an optional remote failsafe-switch switch for aircraft with engines up to the 100cc size. The SuperReg combines several features into one lightweight unit. It has dual battery inputs with isolation between the two batteries. In case of a catastrophic failure of one battery the other can continue to supply power to the aircraft. The SuperReg has a single regulation element and dual power out connectors. All power input and output connectors are Deans UltraPlugs to handle the high current the SuperReg is capable of handing.
    The SuperReg’s output voltage is continuously adjustable from 5.2 volts to 6.5 volts and can supply 7.5 amps continuous current when the input voltage is 8.4 volts and the regulator is set to an output voltage of 6.0 volts. This translates into 7.5 amps continuous current when the input voltage is 8.4 volts and the regulator is set to an output voltage of 6.0 volts.
    The SuperReg also has failsafe operation with the optional remote on/off failsafe-switch. The switch actually turns the failsafe regulator on and off and does not carry the system load current. If the switch or wiring between the switch and failsafe regulator were to fail the regulator stays in the on state until you unplug it from the battery.
    Smart-Fly offers two failsafe-switch types for their regulators that have failsafe operation. The first is a standard switch. This is a small slide switch similar to the switch that typically comes with your radio. The second switch is commonly referred to as a "Pin and Flag" switch. The idea behind this switch is that a pin, with a flag, is inserted into the switch turns your system off. To fly you remove the pin and flag from the switch and your system is turned on. The only way for your system to be turned off is to replace the pin. The optional failsafe-switch and charge-lead package comes with the failsafe-switch (slide or pin&flag), two charge leads and two Ernst charge jacks.

    The PowerSystem Eq6 combines three Smart-Fly products into one compact, light system. The unit has eight channels, six of which have the Equalizer (servo matching) function built into them. The unit uses Deans Ultra Plug connectors for power and accepts power from two 2-cell Li-ion or Li-poly batteries. The unit has a built in BatShare to protect against one bad battery affecting the other battery. Power for the receiver is brought straight from the battery connector to a filter and regulator that supplies clean 5.0V power to the receiver. The servo regulator is adjustable from 5.5V to 6.5V and is connected by a large power bus to the servo output connectors resulting in no voltage drop due to wiring or connector resistance. The PowerSystem Eq6 regulator can supply 7.5 amps of continuous current with 15 amp peaks. We only stock the units without the Cutoff receiver module and fiber-optic cable for jet applications.

    Smart-Fly Equalizer II

    The Equalizer II can control the centering and throw of two servos. This accomplishes several things. First, it increases battery life, especially with digital servos, when multiple servos are used to control a single surface such as the rudder. It does this since the servos precisely track each other over the full positive and negative travel range. The servos are no longer wasting energy fighting each other. The other benefit of this is increased power being transferred to the flight surface instead of to the other servo(s). With the servos no longer fighting each other the full torque of the servos can be transferred to the flight surface. The Equalizer II can also reverse the direction of any servo. The Equalizer II uses a three-point calibration on each output to precisely control the centering positive throw and negative throw of the servo attached to that output. The user sets the centering, positive endpoint and negative endpoint during setup and the Equalizer II will adjust the natural servo travel to the calibrated travel over the entire range of the servo. The Equalizer II was designed to make it easy for one person to perform the setup. The Equalizer II has options the user can setup before the servo adjustments that tailor the Equalizer II to the task at hand making setup easy and painless.

    Smart-Fly BatShare

    The Smart-Fly BatShare enables you to use two battery packs and two switches to provide Dual-Redundant security to your airborne system, just like in full-size aircraft. With the Smart-Fly BatShare, you can tolerate a single failure (open-circuit, short-circuit, low voltage) in either battery pack, or switch, or battery wiring, without losing radio control.
    The Smart-Fly BatShare continually monitors both battery packs and switches for the one with the higher voltage, and routes that to your Rx and servos. You may combine different size packs. In practice, with two good packs, the BatShare draws power equally from both packs, adding their individual capacities. I.e., if Battery #1 is a 6V/1350mAH pack, and Battery #2 is a 6V/2700mAH pack, you will have 4050mAH power supply onboard, with at least 1350mAH to fly on, in case of a failure.
